@jethanhall85 No, he got 17 wins. And even more nominations, one of which was a Golden Globe.. Point is, he was generating a lot of buzz for a movie that was critically acclaimed when it came out. He should have gotten a nomination. Max Von Sydow is completely left field. I don’t think Jonah Hill really did anything, but the movie is Oscar bait, all around, so it’s not surprising.
@ENRIQUE881
Uh, no. The Oscar nominations this year contained very few surprises.
@MateoStarr Well they DO have similar hatred of the US and capitalism and seem totally paranoid…stick a tache on Clooney and the resemblance is uncanny!
Max von Sydow was definitely a bigger surprise than Jonah Hill with the Oscar nominations. I think, though, that both von Sydow and Brooks gave far more nuanced, compelling performances than Hill; at best, Hill was comedic relief for Moneyball.
@80smusicfanNO1 predictable? are you sure??? You are wrong guy.
no he actually lost his spot to max von sydow for extermely depressing and incredibly stupid
hilarious
fucking hilarious
@Urbanart90 I think he got 17 nominations, not wins. And most of those were from film critic associations of different cities, not the major awards like SAG and BAFTA. Anyway, I agree that Brooks was more deserving than Hill. I’m just saying that Hill was expected to get nominated. It wasn’t much of a surprise. Again Max Von Sydow is the surprise. But I could see how it’s easier to make a video making fun of Jonah Hill than Max Von Sydow, so I see why he would be the target.
Hitler was right!!!!
Check out today’s LA Times – there’s an article about Hill wanting to do more dramas. Too funny!
BAHAHAHAHA
@jethanhall85 Dude, so was Albert Brooks. He won 17 Best Supporting Actor awards for his role in Drive. All Jonah HIll did was be less obnoxious than he normally is. Compared to The Sitter, sure he was amazing. Other than that he really didn’t do much
I love how the implications for Hill getting this nomination are kinda realistic. People are gonna start offering him dramas and don’t you think he and his agents are gonna start seeing little golden trophies attached?
Funny video, but dude, Jonah Hill was getting all of the award nominations leading up to the oscars. (SAG, BAFTA, Golden Globe) He wasn’t a surprise. It’s Max Von Sydow that surprised people and took Brooks nomination.
@oldfool666 rofl no he didnt
It was funny at first but then its more about attacking Hill. He deserved his nomination.
@anuthutantrum
Pity the subtitles are too big
The oscar nominations this year were SO boring, predictable and flat out incestuous.
Half of me wants to go “Not another Hitler video”.
The other half agrees with Hitler.
Albert Brooks deserves a nom.
Now when he finds out that Gosling wasn’t nominated…
one of the better ones, well done!
If there really is a God out there, he won’t cast Jonah Hill as The Flash. Otherwise life just isn’t worth living.
This is just stupid and shameful.
Give it up. Stereotyping continues to
re-create monsters
I saw yesterday that Moneyball was nominated for Best Picture. I can’t believe that such a mediocre, run-of-the-mill film could be nominated for BEST picture. There is nothing excellent about that movie. Not the script. Not the story. Not the acting. Direction. Cinematography. Nothing. I enjoyed it, just as I enjoy many films of that quality. But best picture? Insane.
They should air this during the Oscar telecast.
